Mental Health and Wellbeing coaching focuses on your strengths, values, and goals. It is future focused and helps you to build resiliency in managing concerns such as stress, anxiety, low mood, behavioural issues, and substance use. Coaching can help improve your focus and direction in life. It can support you to break down the barriers that may be holding you back and identify the steps required to achieve your goals.
If you are caught up in the busyness of life and have found yourself lost, confused or overwhelmed then coaching can be the option for you. Coaching is not therapy/counselling as such, coaching supports you to rediscover yourself and have a balanced approach to your life. The aim of our coaching service is to support you out of the extremes in life and walk your middle path.
Mental Health and Wellbeing coaching adopts a holistic approach and incorporates many different aspects including your general wellbeing, physical, mental, and spiritual. Alongside your coach you will identify key areas you wish to work on and develop a unique plan that meets your needs.
We provide either in person or telehealth consultations.
During your initial consultation we will be getting to know you, it includes an assessment of your mental health and wellbeing needs, past medical history, any past/current diagnosis, and treatments including medications.
We are happy to consult with your primary health care provider and/or specialist to enable a collaborative approach to your health and wellbeing.
The key areas that you wish to work on will be established and a unique tailored plan to meet your needs and address the changes you wish to make will be developed.
Follow up consultations will include a general review, review of your current plan, goal progress/outcomes, and skills development with any changes or additions implemented.
The Five Ways to Wellbeing were developed by the New Economics Foundation (NEF) on behalf of the Foresight Commission in the UK and adapted for New Zealand by the Mental Health Foundation. The Five Ways to Wellbeing are – Connect, Be Active, Keep Learning, Give, and Take Notice. They help people take care of their mental health and wellbeing. (Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, 2022). At The Middle Path we support you to integrate The Five Ways with skills and tools which are well known and evidence based which include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness alongside looking after your physical health and wellbeing. All of which are extremely effective in aiding you in your journey along your middle path. Within our logo there are six interlinked rings, five of them identify The Five Ways, and the sixth represents you and your middle path. All connected and working together to live the life you choose.
